This will teach you how to make use of the fertiliser plan templates. For detailed instructions on creating a fertiliser plan from scratch, please refer to 'How do I create a Fertiliser Plan', which we recommend reading first.
Fertiliser plan templates can be used across different farms and different years.
To create a fertiliser plan template, go into the Fertiliser Planner and click on Manage Templates then the New Template
Give the plan a name and select the appropriate crop type for this template. Bear in mind that templates are created for specific crop types. If you have a similar fertiliser plan for different crop you can replicate a template and save it against a different crop type – details further down.
To build up the fertiliser plan click on Add Fertiliser
Select the appropriate Inorganic/Organic/Other then the required fertiliser from the drop down list and complete the details for rate and timing before clicking on Save.
Repeat this process until you have included all of the required fertiliser applications and your plan will begin to show as below.
If you go back to the Templates screen you can view a summary of your templates and it is possible to filter them by crop type if required.
To apply a template to a field/selection of fields, select the fields of interest and click on Apply Template
Then select the required template from the drop down list and click Save. The list will only show templates set up for the selected crop type.
The selected fields will now show with a plan name and the plan content.
It is now possible to select an individual field which has been assigned a template and Edit the plan or add/remove products as required. If a template plan is altered in any way the name automatically gets an asterisk (*) next to it for identification.
If you need to copy a template from one crop type to another, go into Manage Templates and select the relevant template then click on Rename/Copy Template. Give it a new name and chose the new crop type and click the Save as new Template box before clicking on Save.
