How do I record spot spraying activities

Modified on Fri, 21 Feb at 12:20 PM

The main concern is how to record the time and quantity of chemical used. One method to record spot spraying activities is as follows:

In Settings > Activities > Add an activity > Spot Spraying.

In the Settings Tab the following elements are the only ones needed.

In the default values Tab, make sure Herbicides are present (they should be by default), in the equipment tab add a Knapsack sprayer and the person doing the operating.

Then add an Activity.

Sandpit field has been chosen which is cropped with Grass.

Change the Cultivated area of the field to an area which will be treated. In this case an estimate has been made of 500sq metres. (0.05Ha).

In the comments box on the right side write a suitable description.

In the Input Tab add the product (Easel has been chosen) and the Target added. The quantity of product being used relates to the full rate and is proportional to the size in the normal way (E.g. 0.11litres).

This will be deducted from the quantity purchased in the Input prices and stocks.

The Equipment and Reason will be automatically filled from the Settings in the Activity Tab. If the operator is added then this will be shown as well.

The job is planned and the Work Plan can be printed and is as follows:

All the information above is copied through to the correct boxes with the comments appearing beneath the Job.

The second job relates to spot spraying the same field the following day with the same product. Here the comment has been added in the Job box and is seen higher up the work plan.

The Jobs are both seen as planned jobs in the Activities log.

Once the jobs are completed the product used will be deducted from the Input Prices and Stocks to maintain a stock record.

The a activities are shown with the amount used being deducted from the initial purchase. In this case a 5 litre can was purchased and after the 2 spot spraying activities there are 4.75 litres remaining.

NOTES:

Easel has no limitations for how many times it can be used on a grass field but there are limitations on a few products, such as Grazon Pro. The use of spot spraying with this product will cause a warning from Geofolia about exceeding the number of doses in a field. A comment can be written in one of the comments box about the use of spot spraying which will give the necessary information to an auditor.
